BEGINNING OIL PAINTING FOR ADULTS $128
Taught by Tyler Bray
Explore the medium of oil painting in an eight week course designed to help you develope skilss in the area of still life, color technique, methodology, reference materials and the expression of your creative self. You will to transform the canvas using color, line, shape, form as well as texture and perspective. You will recieve careful attention and feedback for your work. A final project will incorporate all the elements you have mastered within an independent project.
Supplies:
~Bristle Brushes: Flat (bright) #6, #10, Filberts; #6, #12, Rounds; #4, #8
~Nylon or Taklon Brushes: Brights; #4, #8, #16, Rounds; #4, #8, #12, 3/4inch
~Canvas: Start out with 3 stretched canvas 14"x 18 and 5 18" x 24
(for cheap alternatives go with canvas boards)
~Paint: Select oil paints that are least student grade. Avoid kits. You may good paints that you already have, if the colors are comparable. Purchase 37ml tubes unless otherwise stated. Cadium Red (hue), Cadium Yellow (hue), Permanent Rose or Alizarine Crimson, Lemon Yellow (hue), Naples Yellow, Cerulean Blue, Prussian Blue, Raw Umber or Van Dyke Brown, Burnt Sienna, Zinc White- 125-200ml tube
~Odorless paint thinner or mineral spirits (cheaper through a hardware store).
~Palette knife (optional)
~At least 2 metal or glass jars with lids
~Palette: May be a piece of heavy beveled glass, a board covered with aluminum foil, or a commerical oil paint palette.
~Dawn dishwashing liquid
~Case or backpack for carrying materials.
Keeping a sketchbook
All art students should keep a sketbook for working out ideas and should bring them to class when they may be needed. Students should also have pencils or charcoal drawing medium on hand.

This six week class will introduce you to the basic elements of cartoon drawing and expression. In class you will create mulitple charachters in new and innovative ways using your imagination to develope world full of color and fun.

ART THINK: $72.00Art Think is an interdisciplinary program using contemporary art as a springboard to critical thinking and creativity. You will increase your ability to problem solve, communicate and give form to emotions and imagination. We will be creating art, using writing skills, and sharing ideas.
Art Think is a fresh collaborative approach to art. This class will open your mind and change the way you think about art!
